Week One Reflection
As we approach the end of the first week, I would like to reflect on a few things I took away from the last several days. A lot of information has been thrown our way, but it has been presented in a very controlled and approachable manner. I am incredibly grateful for the intentional time Nicole took out of her busy schedule to ensure we had a smooth transition into our first few days of work.
The main thing I learned this week was the importance of communication within this company. Everyone truly is part of one big team, working together to achieve a common goal. I would love to say there was one specific moment that revealed this to me, but the truth is that I saw it everywhere. Whether Nyah and I were working through other employees' tickets while they were out for a few days, listening in on some of Nicole's internal conversations, or watching the entire staff in San Antonio dig their heels in to ensure this onboarding process was done well, teamwork was evident at every turn. I believe this can be directly correlated to the guiding value of transparency. Even as interns, we were encouraged to be transparent at all times, whether we were overwhelmed with work or did not have enough tasks to fill our day. I learned that it is completely okay to lean on the people around you for support and simply ask questions when needed. At the same time, I learned the importance of taking initiative, stepping up when you can, and becoming someone others can rely on as well. Moss has an incredible way of fostering this kind of culture, and the positive impact it has on employees is easy to see. No matter what obstacle the company may face, they can rest assured knowing they have an entire team ready to take it on and work together to find the best possible solution
