Another week down,
and this week’s reflection is less of a lesson learned and more of something I have observed over the course of this internship: Moss Consulting is truly just an amazing place to work, and you can feel it the moment you interact with anyone on the team. It is not something anyone has to tell you. It is something you notice in the small, everyday moments.
Take Teams calls, for example. It sounds simple, but I have started noticing that people actually answer with a smile on their face. Even on busy days, even when someone is juggling three client issues at once, there is warmth in how they greet you and how willing they are to make time for a question. That kind of genuine friendliness is not something you can fake for 6 weeks straight, which tells me it is just who the people here are. That same energy showed up when we filmed the podcast a while back. I was not sure what to expect going in, but from the first take, it was clear everyone was having fun. There was laughter between clips, people cracking jokes when we messed up a line, and a real sense of ease in the room. Nobody was stiff or overly formal. It genuinely felt like a group of people who enjoy working together, not just people who happen to work at the same company.
Moments like these have shown me that culture is not built through mission statements or policies. It is built through people who choose to bring patience, humor, and genuine care into their everyday work. Watching that consistently, week after week, has taught me as much about HR as any project has. A company can talk about valuing people, but Moss actually lives it out in how team members treat each other. As I move into the second half of my internship, I am grateful to be learning in a place where the people make just as strong an impression as the work itself
